By providing equipment, training and technical assistance, and improving the safety and effectiveness of criminal justice technology and access to that technology, NIJ is helping to meet the needs of criminal justice practitioners nationwide. This booklet provides an overview of NIJ's mission and organization; describes how NIJ sets its technology research agenda; outlines the agency's research, development, testing and evaluation process; and provides an annotated list of selected Web sites.
